Salsa in Chicago

Salsa in Chicago runs six nights a week, and all six are weekly socials. Saturday is the busiest night with 2 parties, so it is the easiest day to find a floor. Sunday through Thursday each add one social, which lets you dance five days out of seven across the week. Most nights happen in Latin bars, cocktail lounges, and a dance academy, so the settings range from casual to studio floors. Several rooms pair salsa with bachata (7 bachata events run in the same city), and many spots sit around River North and the West Town area. Some socials open with a short beginner class before the party. Coming alone is normal, and partner rotation is common once the music starts.
