Kizomba at Esplanade BNF François-Mitterrand, Paris 13e, Paris

BNF Kiz turns the vast wooden esplanade of the Bibliothèque nationale de France François-Mitterrand into an open-air kizomba floor through the warm months, roughly May to September. Organized by Salsa Paris Night, the sessions run several evenings a week in good weather, with the Thursday slot typically going from about 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Music spans kizomba, urban kiz, semba, tarraxo and ghetto zouk, and many evenings open with a short class for all levels before the social begins. Entry is free and donation based, which keeps the gatherings open and easygoing.

The setting is one of the best in Paris for outdoor dancing: a huge platform of Brazilian Ipé wood high above the river, surrounded by the library's towers. It is easy to reach on Metro Line 14 at Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand, right by the MK2 cinema, and the organizers move the party to Station F as a rain backup. The all-levels class, the donation model and the relaxed open-air feel make it especially friendly for beginners and for solo dancers who want to rotate partners in a low-pressure setting.
